While some UFC fighters have no problem speaking out against the new UFC/Reebok sponsorship deal, upcoming UFC Lightweight title contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is not one of them.
During an appearance on AXS TV’s “Inside MMA,” Cerrone chose his words carefully when the subject of the Reebok deal came up.
“That’s a touchy subject,” said Cowboy. “If I say something, you will see ‘Cowboy’ fighting in Bellator next week!”
Cerrone continued, “Yeah, the Reebok deal is definitely hurting everybody. All the big corporate sponsors I have are sticking with me, thank god. This is my first fight with the Reebok deal and all my sponsors said they’re sticking by so we’ll see.”
Cerrone concluded, “I’m proud to sit right here and enjoy a full bodied Budweiser.”
Donald Cerrone challenges Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC On FOX 17 on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
